What is Tao

Tao embodies the ultimate truth, the path to enlightenment, and the creative force of the universe. All individuals emanate from the Tao, sharing a common human nature. Mencius posits that this intrinsic nature manifests through five constant virtues—benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and trustworthiness—that echo across civilizations throughout history. Universal values such as honesty, integrity, selflessness, and loyalty underscore the profound similarity in virtues cherished worldwide.

Despite this inherent goodness, humans grapple with bodily desires and sensory stimuli, often succumbing to the pursuit of gratification. This pursuit veils their true nature, giving rise to myriad pains and transgressions, entangling them in a cycle of suffering.

Saints and sages, acting as messengers of divine justice, guide humanity towards the path of truth. In contemporary times, celestial emissaries like the Ji-Gong Living Buddha and the Yue-Hui Bodhisattva transcend worldly concerns, aiming to uplift all beings.

In the quest for Tao, we must draw inspiration from the sagacity of sages and Buddhas. By cultivating moral integrity and serving the greater good, we pave the way for a naturally joyous and fulfilling life, harmonizing with the world.
